Flight 587
This is an initiative from HHS Foundation which does not represent any of the relatives of the victims of the crashing of Flight 587.
The Foundation considered important to trying to coordinate activities amongst the relatives and friends of the victims of the tragedy occurred in November 12, 2001 at Belle Harbor, New York causing the death of 256 people. To commemorate the tragedy we have been celebrating every year a mass at the “Catedral Primada de América” which was presided by “Monseñor José Arnaiz” in 2002, by Father Martín Gutiérrez in 2003, by “Su Eminencia Reverendísima Nicolás de Jesús Cardenal López Rodríguez” in 2004 and by “Monseñor Amancio Escapa” in 2005.
It is the purpose of the Foundation to continue to gather all people affected by this tragedy every November 12 at 9:00 am to celebrate a mass at the Cathedral and at 3:00 pm at the Flight 587 Cultural Park to offer flowers and perform cultural activities.
Flight 587 Cultural Park
The park was designed and constructed as an initiative of the HHS Foundation by Architect Jorge de la Rosa and the names of the victims were engraved by the sculptors Pedro Medrano (deceased), Netfali de Jesús, Sr. and Netfali de Jesús, Jr.
This initiative was financed with the support of Colson, Hicks, Eidson and Silva & Silva from Coral Gables, Miami, National Tree Trust, Jeff Silverman and with the sogiscit support of the “Ayuntamiento Municipal de Bani”.

Flight 587 Scholarship. This scholarship is already operating for beneficiaries residing in the USA thanks to the effort of the office of New York States Governor George Pataki. (See attachment).
We are working to obtain a Flight 587 scholarship in the Dominican Republic too .- |
