BRIEF HISTORY OF HHS FOUNDATION, INC.

Organization Profile

HHS Foundation is a non-profit organization, incorporated in the Dominican Republic under the number 300-00 and in the United States with number 501C3, FEIN 06-1687358.  It got started in 1998 by donating sporting supplies after visiting the community of Los Conucos De Juan Dolio in the province of San Pedro De Macorís and witnessing kids playing baseball naked and with very limited equipment. 

Our headquarters is located in Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic, from which we provide community services in the areas of HEALTH, EDUCATION AND SPORTS due to the apparent deficiency that the children had in these three areas.  The majority of the work that we perform is at the national level and all of it is done hand to hand with the needy.

SLOGAN:  HELPING CHILDREN REALIZE THEIR DREAMS, but we also work with adults in accordance to the needs that we have encountered these past eleven years. 

GOAL:  Help shape men and women from their early age by offering an adequate space which would encourage an integral development.

MISSION:  To help children successfully complete their formal education, working alongside their community, by meeting their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.  This will help reduce the number of school dropouts, child labor, and the sexual exploitation of children through teaching to read and write and education.

Through education, we have directly worked with the population of 7 years old and older in the communities of Maquiteria, Ensanche Las Americas, Los Frailes, Villa Olimpica, Ensanche Ozama and Villa Duarte.  Through health and sports, we have worked indirectly throughout the country.

The majority of the programs and events are carried out with donations in monetary, supplies, equipment, books, wheelchairs and contributions made by some of the members of our organization, such as our headquarters was donated by one of our members.
